NEI was contracted with Denver International Airport for "On-Call" design and engineering services to perform miscellaneous field and design engineering services. Our services have included (thus far) energy audits, troubleshooting loss of power, motor failure investigations, meduim voltage cable failure investigations, realibility studies, power quality studies, cost reduction due to energy savings and demand side management, and power system improvements.
NEI also received a large professional engineering contract with DIA to evaluate the entire distribution system and long range future expansion capabilities. The scope also includes the planning and coordination with Public Service Company of Colorado and the evaluation of the 230kV circuits feeding the DIA power systems and 25kV distribution system.
Other projects NEI has already completed include harmonic analysis and filtering design, system upgrade, failure analysis, and protection coordination study. We have also designed the electrical distribution for several buildings at the communications antenna site, the munitions storage facility, the secure transformer sites, and parking areas.
NEI performed most of the electrical engineering for the $2.5 million main terminal upgrade now under construction.
NEI has also aided DIA in preparing for Y2K. Our work has involved adding standby generators to the Airport Office Building, Concourse A, and Air Rescue Station 1.
